Activating Allston

Harvard University Housing & Real Estate (HUHRE) recently helped organize “heART of Allston,” a free, all-ages gathering for Harvard community members and Allston residents. The event was held at the Grove, a small public outdoor space at the intersection of Harvard & Western Ave. The event featured a sculpture installation by local artist Matt Bajor, who operates out of Artisan’s Asylum, a 45,000 square foot makerspace within the HUHRE portfolio. The undergraduate drumming group “Thud” also performed.  Among the many collaborators for this event were HUHRE’s commercial development and operations teams as well as Harvard University Planning & Design. This initiative exemplifies HUHRE’s Allston activation strategy, showcasing how the University’s properties and tenants enhance community vibrancy and contribute to the neighborhood.
