Campus Services Orientation
Orientation and Review Period

Talk to your manager about how you are doing.  For most employees,  the first 45 to 90 days of employment (refer to your union contract or personnel manual for specific orientation and review period) is an orientation and review period. This should be the beginning of an ongoing conversation between you and your manager about your performance and experience on the job.  It is a c time for you and your manager to set performance expectations, and to agree on clear job goals. If it appears that the placement is not suitable for any reason, either party may terminate the relationship, without needing to a dispute resolution process.  If your manager does not initiate this conversation, feel free to begin it yourself.  If you need coaching or support in having this conversation, connect with your HR Consultant

Performance Management

Performance management provides Campus Services staff and managers dedicated time to reflect on progress, clarify expectations, and discuss priorities and potential career paths. Performance management is intended to foster staff member’s individual success, to engage managers in the development of their staff, and to support the priorities and goals of the Campus Services.  Performance management is an ongoing process that includes continuous coaching, the setting of priorities and goals, and summarizing year end progress.  The performance management cycle follows the fiscal year, July 1st. through June 30th.
